This rosé wine keg holds the equivalent of 26 bottles

Move over boxed and bottled wine – ya boi keg is here to make you look like big old nerds.

A winery in Long Island, USA, has come up with the genius way of storing and serving large quantities of wine.

Bridge Lane Wines has launched wine kegs, which contain 19.5 litres of wine, which is the equivalent of 26 bottles, or 130 glasses – if you stick to standard glass sizes.

The kegs come in five different varieties – dry rosé, a red blend, white Merlot, unoaked Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.

Unopened, the kegs last six months, and once tapped, you need to drink the contents within two days, or two months if you have a kegarator with gas line attatched.

The kegs cost $240 (£178.85), which works out at about £6.87 a bottle, or £1.38 a glass. What a bargain.

You can use any beer keg tap, or buy a separate keg tap from the winery, which costs $25 (£18.63).

Imagine having these at a wedding, or big family gathering – so handy.

Once you’re done, the kegs can be put in your recycling bin, which is fab news for the environment.

If you haven’t guessed already, unfortunately these kegs don’t deliver to the UK – can you imagine the postage fees? – so we really hope a local company starts making them soon.

Until then, may be our go-to for picnics.

If you do happen to be in the US though, buy your wine kegs .
